On behalf of the DC team, we’d like to thank you (and your act) for being a part of the 44th edition of Decadent Cabaret! Even if you’re a seasoned pro, please read the following message in its entirety (5 min read), as it contains everything you’ll need to know, some important changes for this year, and answers several frequently asked questions.
Before the Show
Submit Your Personnel List
Since DC features so many acts, we ask that you provide a list of the names of the performers in your group. This will determine who is granted access to the backstage area, so please be mindful of the security of the equipment of all the bands performing. DC also allows for one non-performing person to help you load in and out, set up your stage plot, or act as a merchandise representative.
Submit Your Input List
Our production team is the best around, but we still ask you to provide an input list for your set. This should be submitted on or before Feb 20 to www.dmisound.com (click here for the submission page). If there are unusual aspects of your setup (IEM rigs, unusual instruments, etc), please indicate this while submitting your input list. Please ask all questions related to the production of your set at least ONE WEEK before the show.
Announcements
We know you’re excited… we are too - but please DO NOT post your involvement with the festival until the DC team has officially announced the lineup. When you do start your promotions, please tag us so we can share!
Set Material
We encourage you and your act to perform whatever material you’d like. IT DOES NOT HAVE TO BE COVERS, but it certainly can be if you wish. This is a festival celebrating local musicians, and as artists, we want to see what YOU have in mind! The only thing we ask is that you tell us if you are covering something, so we can make sure there are not any duplicate sets.
Provided Backline Equipment (Drummers and Bassists)
We want you to sound great! Since there are SO many acts, we will provide a house drum set and bass amplifier for both stages. We ask that your act uses these backline rigs unless prior arrangements are made with the production team (dmisound.com). Drummers will need to bring all cymbals and stands, snare drum and stand, throne, kick pedal and, of course, sticks. Bassists should bring pedalboards, cables, and instruments.
Guitarists, keyboardists, DJ’s and other instrumentalists should bring their own equipment.
-Upstairs Provided Bass Rig: Aguilar AG500SC Bass Head - Ampeg SVT-810 Cabinet
-Upstairs Provided Drums: Yamaha Live Oak Custom, 10. 12, 14. 16 toms available, 22 kick)
-Downstairs Provided Bass Rig: Ampeg SVT 3 Pro - Ampeg SVT-810 Cabinet)
-Downstairs Provided Drums: Mapex Saturn V 10, 12, 14, 16 toms available, 22 kick
Your Act’s Merchandise and Table
The DC team wants you to sell your shirts and records! There will be tables set up upstairs and downstairs for you to set up shop. It is FIRST COME, FIRST SERVE. Due to so many acts, we ask that you limit your merchandise space to no more than a half of a standard banquet table (roughly 4 feet).
Day Of Your Performance:
Load-In
Please load in at least 2 hours before your allotted set time. The performer load-in area is the south doors of Brickhouse Pub & Grub (signs will be posted). There are two stages, upstairs and down, and where your set is scheduled will determine where you drop your gear. Please check in with the stage manager as you arrive (they’ll greet you at the door); they will direct you where to go, and provide you with a performer wristband that will grant you access to the backstage areas.
Personnel
All listed members of your act will receive a wristband that is valid for the day that you perform, which grants access to the backstage areas. Click here to submit your list of members.
Due to the overwhelming number of acts in the facility, and for the safety of staff and equipment, please DO NOT congregate in the backstage areas, and be respectful of the stage managers (or those who have STAFF credentials) who are trying to keep things operating smoothly.
One more thing: keep your performer wristband for complimentary admission on the days that you are not playing as well! We encourage you to come and watch the show!
Complimentary Beverages
Each day of the show, performers will have access to free bottled water (white coolers located in the backstage areas around both stages).
Each performer from every act will also receive three (3) complementary drink tickets, good for either soda or tap beer (brand at BHPG's discretion). These tickets will be redeemable the night of your performance only, and are only valid at the upstairs room bar.
Set Times
Please be respectful of other performers on the bill; your set time is precisely 25 minutes in length. In order to accommodate 40+ acts, it is critical that your allotted set not go beyond this time frame. The DC team thanks you for your cooperation!
Photography/Video
DC will have a professional photography team that will be capturing the entire event. These will be the only photographers allowed in backstage/sidestage areas. Your fans (or personal photographer) may take any photo/video you like from anywhere in the General Admission area, while being respectful to other concert goers. The DC team will also be recording audio/video of your set, which will be posted on DC's official YouTube page in the months following the event.
Load-Out
Once you have completed your set, we encourage you and your act to load out your equipment as soon as it is convenient. This keeps the backstage area clean and nobody leaves anything behind.
After The Show
Payout
Yes, your act is getting paid! In order to be as fair as we possible can, every act will be paid exactly the same. This amount will not be known until the end of the event.
To collect payment, please report to Brickhouse Pub & Grub on Sunday, March 2nd between 11am and 3pm to collect your earnings. If no one from your group is available, please make prior arrangements with the DC team, and we will make sure you’re paid!
Photos
Our photo team will need some time to sort out all of the awesome shots, so please give them some time to make their work look the best it can be. We will do our best to contact someone from your group, and we’ll share them with you!
DC reserves the right to use any photos taken by the official photographers in promotional material. If you’d prefer us not use your likeness, please let us know.
Lost & Found
PLEASE double and triple check that you have ALL of your equipment out of the venue the day of your performance. In the event you leave something behind, please contact the venue or the DC team ASAP, and we will try to locate your missing item, and arrange a time to get it back to you.
Decadent Cabaret and Brickhouse Pub & Grub is not responsible for any lost or stolen items, so please do your best to keep track of your equipment!
Whew! That was a lot! Thanks for reading, and we can’t wait to see your set at Decadent Cabaret 44!
